A little about me
Background
My name is Annette Winston. I grew up in Nieuw-Vennep, the Netherlands. At the age of nineteen, I moved to Belgium to attend the former Bible Institute. That’s where I met my husband and where we later got married. Afterward, we lived in the Netherlands for eleven years, where our three children were born.
In 2000, we returned to Belgium to serve in evangelism and church planting. We were responsible for a French-speaking local church and the Christian social-cultural center Le Catalpa. Today, we serve in a Dutch-speaking church in Dilbeek.
Experience
For the past thirty years, I’ve been actively involved in church ministry, with a special heart for pastoral care. In both the Netherlands and Belgium, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people in their relationship with God and supporting them through life’s challenges.
This rich experience inspired me to pursue further training in this field. With enthusiasm, I enrolled in a three-year Pastoral Counseling program at the Centrum voor Pastorale Counseling in Heverlee. After completing the program, I continued with a one-year internship, which I felt it confirmed my steps toward this ministry.
Guided by my conviction that spirit, soul, and body—though they form a unity—constantly influence one another, I find it important to look at the whole person. In line with this, I completed my training as a Nutrition and Supplement Advisor in 2019. When desired, I gladly offer advice on healthy nutrition and lifestyle as part of the counseling process.
My husband and I also accompany couples preparing for marriage. We use a program called Prepare and Enrich, which is based on biblical principles.
My native language is Dutch and I speak fluent English and conversational French, which allows me to connect with people from different backgrounds.
